Through Special OlympicPNG, athletes with intellectual disabilities are now able to participate inthe coming major events withthe support from DigicePNG. It’s not allthe time you see such special people onthe field, but nothing will stopthem from representingtheir country.
A milestone for the Special OlympicPNG wasthe recent Special OlympicsWorld Games held in South Korea, young athlete, Rosa Nege, representePNG in Snowshoeing.
Special OlympicPNG PresidentoTakale Tuna, commendedthe gesture received from DigicePNG. He also notedthe important rolethe parents play in supportingthe athletes both on and offthe field.
DigicePNG came on board with a sponsorship package of K125, 000.00.
Currently athletes are preparing for the Asia Pacific Regional Games in Newcastle, Australia, in Novermber whilethe coaching clinic will begin atthe end of this month to equipthe coaches for allthe upcoming events.
