Community Development Minister Loujaya Toni mentioned this duringthe SME lLeadersip awards in Port Moresby last week.
Minister Toni said Lae City will hostthe first youths SME’summit in August next year.
With a large number of young people without jobs,the idea by Minister Toni to join forces with relevant agencies to introducethe SME’sector tothe youths is a positive step towards reducingthe unemployment rate and youth related social disorder thatthe country faces.
TheInstitute of Banking and Business Management (IBeM) Enterprise Centre has been specifically called on to joined to jointhe proposed youth SME’summit.
This will see youths engaging in private businesses to grow and develop sustainably.
