National Planning Minister Charles Abel says all Districts must come up withtheir Districts Plan by mid- year.
Minister Abel said Districts with proper detailed plans make it easier for implementation.
He made this remarks while acceptingthe Five – Year District Plan for Moresby – North East on Friday.
Minister Abel was pleased withthe Five – Year Development Plan for Moresby – North East presented by Vice Minister for Sport and Member for North – East Labi Amaiu.
Mr Abel described it as a comprehensive one that focuses on key sectors inthe Districts andthe estimated costing and howthese infrastructures will be funded. The Plan is also in line withthe government’s Five – Year Outlook for all Districts.
It has taken Mr Amaiu and his officers two – months to furnishthe plan. It captures key sectors inthe North – East Electorate. One ofthe highlight he says isthe need to turn settlements into Surburbs.
Mr Amaiu isthe first to present his five – year development plans for his Districts and ther Members of Parliament are urged to do so before June this year.
