TUTUMANG Attacked

Security has been beefed up atthe Morobe Provincial parliament –the Tutumang after a rampaging crowd smashed&nbspthe windows of government vehicles yesterday.

The crowd was made up of men and women from various districts who saidthey were waiting for promised funding assistance bythe provincial government.

 

Just after 1pm, police fired four shots intothe air to dispersethe crowd afterthey got out of hand.

 

More than 200 men and women ran for cover as police continued shooting intothe air.

 

Additional reinforcements were called in  as opportunists attempted to stone nearby shots.

 

Within minutes,the situation was brought under control and town area was cleared.
