The closure ofthe Belolo hospital has resulted in its first casualty.
Friends of a Belolo woman dlied on Saturday from an asthma attack say she could have been saved ifthe District hospital had been open.
They said she had no way of getting emergency treatment and dlied as a result.
The Belolo hospital has been closed for two weeks now after health inspectors condemnedthe place because of a set of blocked toilets.
Yesterday, staff met withthe District health adviser to work out a solution.
On Friday, Belolo MP, Sam Besil said he was angered bythe poor management ofthe hospital.
He also called onthe provincial administration to releasethe necessary funds required to have maintenance done onthe buildings.
