PNG Power reduced its tariffs by 1.6 per cent which began on Tuesday, 01st of January, 2013.
This is in line withthe requirements underthe Electricity Regulatory Contract. The tariffs will be adjusted on a quarterly basis beginning 2013, based on fuel price fluctuations.
Meantime,theIndependent Consumer and Competition Commission have approverdthe minimum purchase for domestic Easipay from K10.00 to K15.00.
This is to ensure that Easipay customers do not pay for extra and unnecessary charges.
For instance, when purchasing power through Digicel, customers can pay only K1.00 charge fee for K20.00 units in one transaction, and not K2.00 in two K10.00 transactions.
