More Australian Federal Police Arrive

Twelve more Australian Federal Police Officers arrived today in Port Moresby forthPNG-Australia policing partnership.

They completethe total 59 AFP officers, an arrangement betweePNG and Australia, to conduct Policing exercises inthe country, working alongsidethe RoyaPNG Constabulary (RPNGC). Forty-seven are already stationed around NCD.

 

Upontheir arrival at Jackson’sInternational AirportoTraditional Dancers from Central Province gavethem a warm welcome with a dance.

 

Deputy Police Commissioner, Simon Kauba, welcomedthe arrival ofthe 12 AFP officers tothe country. He also said that Frontline Police is crucial and it deserves more attention.

 

The 59 AFP Police Officers are working in collaboration with RPNGC to maintain law and order and to tackle white collar crimes in PNG

 

Australian Deputy High Commissioner, Margaret Adamson, was alsothere to welcomethe troops. She confirmed that 13 AFP officers will be deployed to Lae later this week to be positioned atthe start ofthe Highlands Highway in Lae, wherethe commercial hub oPNG is.
