Police from Finchafen have been deployed to Siassi Island to restore law and order after one man was killed in clashes with Siassi High School students’
Morobe’s Provincial Police Commander, David Warap, said a small police contingent left Finchafen this morning for Siassi and have not reported back yet.
It’s understood, fighting broke out between villagers and students’after an argument. Two students’were injured. The students’hen retaliated killing one man and injuring anther.
Lack of discipline and poor conditions ofthe dormitories have also been a major problem at Siassi High School.
