Opposition leader Belden Namah is calling on Prime Minister Peter O&rsquO’Neill to stop undermining the law.
This comes after what Belden Namah says to be the appointment of an unqualified acting Ombudsman Commissioner.
In a press conference today, opposition leader Belden Namah asked the Prime Minister to respect the institutions of the state and refrain from using executive whip to interfere with functions and responsibilities of these offices.
He said it is disturbing and regrettable that the Prime Minister has been accusing public officials of political motives.
Namah says he is baffled that PM Peter O&rsquO’Neill now talks about systematic and procedural compliance when all that is happening around him concerns his blatant disregard for the country’s laws, systems and processes.
He said the Ombudsman Commission is not required under any law to table in parliament its’ investigations or findings against any leader and the Prime Minister must stop misleading the people of this country.
