PNG Men’s Soccer Team Hard At Work

It’s eleven months away from the 2015 Pacific Games and already the Men’s national soccer team is hard at work.

Player numbers will increase in’Order to scout more talent before it will be trimmed down again as the big event nears.

Members of the train-on squad were put through their paces with a series of exercises under the gaze of Serbian trainer, Milan Miric, and former PNG striker, Reginald Davani.

The Moresby heat tested their strength as they shook off post-NSL cobwebs.

A new philosophy of possession-based football and playing with purpose will be key targets introduced over the coming months as PNG looks to perform well in the Games.

PNG has lagged behind in the Pacific over the years due to lack of competitive matches, but players have since gained experience from the National Soccer League.

The initial squad is thirty,, however, trainer Milan Miric said the list could expand to over fifty as they look for best, possible players.

Striker, Raymond Gunemba, and Hekari team-mates, Eriksson Komeng and Niel Hans, were not present at this training, but a host of players under the age of twenty three were out and eager to make their opportunities count.

Today marks the first session in the national teams bid to do well in 2015, and while there may have been differences between the franchise clubs from both Lae and Port Moresby, right now its all about team spirit.
