Following a successful conclusion of the Gold Nugget School Cricket trophy for schools last month, the BSP School Cricket Blast piloted in Port Moresby while wrapping up their finals over the week.
The Cricket Blast coincides with the term 2 school break and has attracted a total of 4 schools in the roll-out of the program.
In their efforts to strengthen the development of cricket in the country, Cricket PNG, in partnership with BSP, concluded the BSP School Cricket Blast in Port Moresby during the week.
The one-day event held at the Colts Ground Cricket Nets, attracted 4 schools to participate in the U-13 and U-15 boys and girls division.
In the U-13 boys division, Pari Primary chased down 79 runs set by Sevese Morea and added another 6 runs to take the match at 4/83.
While in the girls division, Sevese Morea turned the tables, defeating Pari Primary by 11 runs.
It was no different in the U-15 division as both schools dominated the finals showdown.
Pari Primary boys set the pace at 5/92 runs for Sevese Morea to be bowled out at 3/69 runs.
Sevese Morea defeated Pari Primary by 13 runs.
BSP School Kricket Development Officer Kiplin Doriga thanked Taurama Primary and St. Theresa Primary Schools for participating, commending the teachers and students for their effort and support throughout the event.
