Netball Team for 2015 Pacific Games

The PNG Netball Federation has announced a new Management Team for the National Open Team in its preparation for the 2015 Pacific Games.

Former Fiji International Unaisi Rokoura will be leading team of trio including Gimanama Crowdy, Margaret Opina and Diana Kila.

With the current changes of redevelopment at the Rita Flynn Netball Courts, Netball PNG has no time to waste in preparation for the major home soil campaign.

A new management team was announced in conjunction with the PNG Olympic Committee.

Former Fiji international who was elevated to coaching duty for Fiji Pearls up until 2012 will now head the PNG National Open Team.

She was part of the management team in the recent PNG Pepes Pacific Netball Series Campaign.

A total of 60 players were listed for the Open Team.

All internationals in the likes of veteran Kilala Owen, Pepes captain Winnie Mavara, notable sister Lua Rikis and Margaret Eka, who has captained the U21 Netball Team to World Youth Cup in Glasgow, Scotland last year, are all included in the 36 Port Moresby based players.

The other 24 players out from Port Moresby include Australian based shooters Tiata Baldwin and Maleta Roberts.

Courtney Abel from Alotau on overseas study will join the team as they go through testing and training before a final squad is made to represent the country in the 2015 Pacific Games.
