McCartney Performs One Last Time At Candlestick Park

Paul McCartney officially closes Candlestick Park, after 57 years, with one last memorable performance.

The park is a historical setting for Paul McCartney as it hosted the Beatles last performance in 1966. It has also home to many city Sport teams and live bands.

McCartney uploaded a video on YouTube honouring the importance of Candlestick.

"I have some very special memories — as you know — of Candlestick Park," he said in his video.

He performed the last song they sang together as Beatles, while several never before seen photographs flashed behind him.

The concert was a historical one as the unreleased photos showed the four members of Beatles walking across the grounds of the park, wearing sharp suits, with John, Paul and George each carrying their guitars, while Ringo walks ahead. They are surrounded by police and officials, with floodlights illuminating their path across the stadium.

The park was famously known to the locals at “The Stick”.

According to the Bay City News, the 54 year old park will be replaced by 1.1 million square foot development project.

Meanwhile McCartney will continue on with his appearances, and his schedule is busy as it is booked til October.
