New Yorks two international airports to re-open

Following the massive floods from Hurricane Sandy (Superstorm Sandy), now a post tropical storm, New Yorks City’s two main international airports; John F Kennedy (JFK) and Newark (EWR) will re-open on Wednesday, which is Thursday in Papua New Guinea.

Travellers are advised that by airport operator the Port Authority that there will be “very limited flights to resume later this week.

Travellers are to check the airlines before heading to the airport, or otherwise try to postpone trips to later date.

On the ground, over a thousand miles wide, means that repairs and recovery efforts will take more time than you might expect for a regular tropical cyclone.
