New Ireland Pays Pension

By Delly Waigeno – EMTV, Port Moresby

New Ireland Governor Sir Julius Chan, realised his vision this week for New Ireland to once again be leading the way, during the delivery of the their Old Age and Disable pensions, by using cutting edge cloud based internet technology.

Being the first in the country, New Ireland began using a pilot software program called ‘Systemate’, to capture real time, on the ground, relevant data and photos of pensioners, sending direct to the Provincial Government databases.

This program is running alongside the manual system to enable real time information to be carefully checked and processed.

The delivery of the pensions, through the Community Development Division, has seen the Director, Desley Paanasae, and her staff work tirelessly around the clock, to ensure the pensions are delivered in a transparent and proper manner.

“We are fortunate to have such dedicated personnel working for the good of our community” Sir Julius said.

“We are now working towards an integrated management system which will tie together all the Provincial Government data and assist with many of our subsidies and pensions.”
