Cook Islands to Promote Tourism in Japan

Cook Islands will be looking towards Japan to promote their tourism industry.

The Pacific Island nation will be sending their representatives from the tourism industry to Japan for a six day visit.

Cook Islands delegation to Japan will see representatives from a total of four different organisations within the tourism scope. These will include Cook Islands Tourism Corporation, Turuma Pacific Travel Group, Manuia Beach Resort and the Edgewater Resort.

These group will be visiting key wholesalers in Tokyo, Japans’ capital.

Robert Skews, who is the managing director of Turuma, said that the Japanese travellers are now becoming more adventurous than before, and with a new kind of travelling trend. Many Japanese now wish to do individual travelling or a small group tour, rather than how it was like before where they travelled in large numbers.

According to Skews, there will be three Cook Island dancers – the Rarotonga group who will also be in Japan at the same time for an annual dance festival.  The dancers who will perform at the festival, will showcase the country’s culture and provide further exposure to its potential visitors.
