Edward Matane was appointed as additional director of Airlines PNG on Monday.
He was nominated for appointment by the National Superannuation Fund Limited.
Matane’s appointment will bring professional, sustainable aviation engineering expertise and knowledge of PNG’s aviation market to the company’s board.
He holds a Diploma in Science majoring in Aviation Maintenance Technology. Before his appointment as director, Matane was employed by Air Niugini in their maintenance and engineering department before becoming a senior airbus A310 analyst.
He then became the deputy chief of engineering at Airlink and was later employed again by Air Niugini in 1995.
In 2012, Matane joined Oil Search Limited. He was since attached with aviation logistics and served as Oil Search’s aviation logistics coordinator.
Matane has contributed to building the aviation industry during his career in the different training, quality and engineering management he headed.
