Peace is an unfinished business, says Sr Lorraine Garasu

By Fabian Hakalits – EMTV Buka

A key issue for Bougainville and Papua New Guinea are the ‘Missing Persons’ of the Crisis.

Women leader, Catholic nun and also a human rights advocator, Sister Lorraine Garasu says, peace is an unfinished business.

And for true peace to prevail, Bougainvilleans and Papua New Guineans must reconcile and really say ‘SORRY’, and moving on in life.

Sr Lorraine said that outstanding crisis related issues remain unsolved.

While Bougainville has sailed through unchartered waters of forgiveness into peace building, saying sorry and true forgiveness must come from the heart.

The morale obligation as a human being and Christian is to say sorry. Peace is about human and social needs, people’s security and safety.

Meanwhile, the ABG’s President and Bougainville Executive Council, Peace and Reconciliation Directorate have conducted series of meetings on missing persons.

EM TV News will bring a follow up of the recommendations.
