The Central Province Transportation Authority (CPTA) plans to closely monitor overcrowding, unregistered vehicles and the transfer of liquor within the province this year.
It officially launched its business year this morning with the aim of ensuring that all vehicles operating in Central province are roadworthy.
Following a dedication service, the CPTA team of 45 employees pledged to serve the authority with honesty.
CPTA Director, Emmanuel Oa said the authority is aware of bribery between motorists and CPTA traffic officers, and measures have been taken against the motorists and officers involved.
Amongst the 2015 objectives, CPTA will be introducing a new database system known as Relien.
This database is designed to capture work processes and account documents of the authority.
Customer receipts will also be issued to motorists so all money received by the traveling public will be recorded using a docket printer.
With these two new approaches, acting managing director Jehu Ore has urged his staff to maintain a high level of professionalism in their business operations.
