Department of Finance to Train Government Officials

The United Nations Development Program’s Public Expenditure and Financial Accountability International Standard for PNG, was launched yesterday.

Starting next month, the Department of Finance and the UNDP Provincial Capacity Building Program, in partnership with the IMF, will be training government officials, in implementing the Public Expenditure and Financial Accountability to International Standard.

 

A South-South Cooperation with the Fiji Ministry of Finance is being organized, and high-level officials from Fiji will support the implementation of PEFA in PNG, in March.

 

UNDP’s Global Environment Facility Small Grants Program’s ‘Call for Proposals’ will be opened starting tomorrow.

 

There are two areas: ‘Global Environment Facility Focal Areas’ and ‘Capacity Development’.

 

The UN has a number of high impact events planned for the year.

 

Included is a visit by the UN Special Rapporteur on extrajudicial, summary or arbitrary executions.
