Public raise concerns over Madang Town’s potholes

From potholes to puddles, to now what seems like mini pools, right in the heart of Madang town’s main commercial area.

It is an eyesore and the public is not pleased, in fact they’re disgusted.

“Too many potholes around the town area, especially the one between Madang’s Air Niugini office and the National Development Bank. That one is rather like a pool and not a pothole,” Cathy Silih, a member of the public said.

The heavy rains are likely to continue throughout this festive season, leaving these puddles screaming for attention. With the elections just around the corner, members of the public are now more vocal on issues such as the road conditions, based on their observations.

In a recent interview with the Madang Governor, Jim Kas, he states that he is fully aware of the public’s concerns about the road conditions, and assured that his government is ready to prioritise in that area, come next year.
