Rugby League is a sport that advocates men to stop violence against women.
Throughout the years, Rugby League heroes took the field with the slogan ‘no violence against women’.
It’s all about fame, power but the true beauty behind every sport is the achievements earned through sheer determination, courage and the efforts put in.
Described as PNG’s National Sport, Rugby League has gained attention from all four corners of the country.
It is also used as a tool to combat all forms of violence.
‘Trupla man’ campaign is one of the examples used to stop all forms of violence.
Both International and National Rugby League players have been used to try to reach out to as many people as possible, to advocate and change the attitude the people have on this behavior.
Paul Aiton, Charlie Wabo and Nathan Blacklock were used to deliver the message.
The campaign has gained support from all works of life including Non- Government Organization and also the office of the diplomacy.
The American Embassy has seen sports as an integral part of the development and has contributed towards building sporting personnel, including the recent sports mentoring program, which Karo Lelai from the Basketball Federation successfully attended.
