InterOil Logo on MT Gunes K

InterOil is proud to announce that one of its fuel tankers was recently branded with the Company’s Fuel Products Logo.

The tanker arrived in the country last night from Singapore, and is currently at the Oil Refinery in Napa Napa outside of Port Moresby.

InterOil does not own the vessel but rather leases it on a full time charter basis.

MT Gunes K is the name of this queen.  It was built in 2009. She transports fuel products from the refinery to main shipping ports in PNG like Rabaul, Wewak, Lae and Alotau. The vessel is owned by a Senior Expatriate Businessman.

Gunes is one of only two vessels that transport fuel products by sea and has been operating in PNG for more than three years.

InterOil started its operations in PNG in 1997, when it signed a project Agreement with the Government. In December last year, she made her journey to Singapore and was branded with the InterOil’s fuel products logo.

Since then, it has been providing refinable fuel petroleum products such as Engine and Hydraulic Oils. The company does not own any of these shipping or trucking distribution assets. However, it only schedules all movements and deliveries for its goods.

The products are later transported by road to the Highlands Region and other parts of the Nation.
