Tatana Volleyball Finale

It was a crowd-pleasing showdown at the heart of Tatana Village, just outside Port Moresby City.

 

The Kauka girls braved the windy weather as they took the court against the home side team Hebawo in the Nick and Bonnie Allan U21 Volleyball playoff.

 

The Nick and Bonnie Allan Volleyball Tournament brought out the best of volley action in the Motu Koitabu villages in Port Moresby.

 

It was an epic showcase of brilliance that took the courts, displaying unsung skills that will find them spots in any sanctioned tournaments.

 

Kauka in black shorts took on Hebamo in the Women’s U21 playoff.

 

Kauka from Kirakira village took the court with enough experience gained from their recent volleyball tourney, while the home girls relied heavily on the training gained on their own courts.  

 

The visitors wasted no time as they exchanged serves, aiming for the gaps.

 

On the other hand, Hebamo with home crowd advantage were, better with their settings and spiking. 

 

The home team stood firm, claiming the first set.

 

It was a rowdy battle of best between the Motuan and the Koitabuan girls.

 

The home side went ahead bagging the second set.

 

The Koitabuan girls bounced back in the third set, but the Hebamo walked away winners 3 sets to 1 at the final hooter.

 

In the U21 men’s quarter final, it was all Kaukas’ affairs.

 

Kauka 1 took on Kauka 2.

 

The Mado brothers were rivals on the court, seeing the older brother, Sebea Mado who is not new on court,  take Kauka 1  out of the court winners at 3 sets to 1.
