Football club Port Moresby Chairman Richard Kassman, has come out saying that his club is focused on playing football, purporting to claims made by National Soccer League Operations Manager, Chris Brown, that the 2014 NSL season-opening delays were due to the court appeal by the club.
Initially scheduled to begin late this year, the delays are beginning to become a concern.
After consecutive delays over the past three weeks, and amidst a backdrop of comments over social media, the statements made by FC POM Chairman, Richard Kassman, reiterates the message stated earlier in the year by Coach, Reginald Davani, in the clubs focus.
While attempts to contact both parties were unsuccessful, it is understood that there is a lot of frustration building in the soccer fraternity over the continued extension of the season.
Mr. Brown however, did confirm this morning that he did make statements in relation to the delay in the season, while Mr. Kassman has categorically denied that a court injunction has not been taken to prevent the season from commencing.
The Chairman stated in the clubs press release that they are already in direct contact with PNGFA and the Oceania Football Confederation regarding the matter. However there are fears that a delay in the hearing could mean a delay in the season.
