Madang started its provincial games yesterday to select a team to represent the province in the coming PNG Games in Lae next year.
Governor, Jim Kas, officially opened the games yesterday with the support from all Local Level Government presidents.
A sum of K20, 000 was added on to the provincial government’s budget of K200, 000 for the provincial team.
This money will go on to assisting the Provincial team to prepare well and also focus on producing some great results come the PNG Games in Lae next year.
The main aim of the tournament was to select talented players from both rural and urban center’s to represent the province at the PNG Games.
Also discipline and attitude is very important when it comes to sports and good sportsmanship is the basic key for the betterment of the team on the whole for the PNG Games.
