Albert Leaves Country to Join Forces

Mendi Muruks back-rower and Kumuls star, Wellington Albert, has left the country this morning to join forces with the Penrith Panthers.

Proud father, Albert Yaro, was there at the airport to wish his son luck as he set out to perform his NRL duty.

It’s a new pathway for this youngster who will be making his debut in the Australian National Rugby League.

Wellington Albert is well known for his game tactics, proving himself as someone to look out for on the flanks. He was outstanding at the World Cup, performing his duty with clinical precision.

The rugby star from Sol village in the Upper Mendi, Southern Highlands province, was accompanied by brother Kingston Albert and father Albert Yaro into the departure lounge.

Albert has signed a 2 year deal with the Penrith Panthers.

PNGRFL helped Albert process his VISA through the PNG SP Hunters program.

Albert will be a living testimony for upcoming rugby stars. This is the beginning of his international duty, and no doubt he will be aiming high this season for his new club.
