Serena Williams has booked her spot for the Australian Open final where she will make her seventh Melbourne Park final, yesterday when she defeated fourth seed Agnieszka Radwanska, ending the match with three aces to win.
Late last year Williams took a break to &ldquo”just chill”rdquo; and that time off seems to have worked wonders for the Tennis Champions as she blitzed through the Australian Open.
Williams will face German, Angelique Kerber, in the final tomorrow.
Every time the American has made the final at Melbourne Park she has gone on to win the Daphne Akhurst Memorial Cup.
When she withdrew from tennis last year, Williams hopes of emulating Steffi Graf’s calendar grand slam in 1988, came crashing down when she was eliminated from the US Open by Italian, Roberta Vinci.
The American, however, can join Graf on 22 grand slam titles, the most in the Open era, if she beats Angelique Kerber, who considers her fellow German Graf as her idol, in Saturday’s final.
