Prime Minister, Peter O’Neill, today received an award in recognition of his contribution to the management of Papua New Guinea’s economy, and towards the advancement of higher education in the nation.

O’Neill was made a Fellow of Institute of Certified Management Accountants of Australia, a recognised institute which is associated with the Jubilee University of PNG.

Emerit’s Professor Janek Ratnatunga and Dr. Thaddeus Kambanei of Jubillee University conferred the award in a convocation ceremony.

Dr. Kambanei said the Prime Minister was nominated for his stewardship of the economy, which has grown to over K50 billion in size, and his involvement in advancing higher education to create opportunities for more college-aged Papua New Guineans.
