Trans Wonderland Limited, a owned by 26 landowner companies in Hela and Southern Highlands Provinces, rose to prominence during the construction phase of the PNG LNG Project. However, in recent years, the company has had to diversify its business to ensure it remains profitable.

For the majority of Papua New Guineans, Agriculture continues to be a main source of income. Due to recent drought as a result of El Nino, the agriculture sector has been hardest hit – with many parts of the country experiencing an acute shortage of food over the past year. PNG Rural Industries Council, representing a cross-section of participants in agriculture, is cautious about the future of agriculture in PNG.
