GAZELLE DISTRICT’S TRANSFORMATIVE PROGRAM SET NEW STANDARDS IN LABOUR MOBILITY

By Wasita Royal
Gazelle District in East New Britain is setting a new standard in labour mobility one successful deployment at a time.
On June 4th, 2024, a milestone was reached when 10 Aged Care Workers, thoroughly trained and culturally prepared for life in Australia by the Gazelle Labour Mobility Unit (LMU), departed for their new roles.
These individuals did not just secure jobs, they raised the bar for the entire program, proving Gazelle’s unique recruitment and preparation model produces exceptional workers.
This initiative, spearheaded by Gazelle MP and Fisheries Minister Jelta Wong, has gained such a strong reputation that Australian employers now specifically request workers from East New Britain (ENB).
On April 21st, 2025, a team of 13 young men were flown to Emerald, Queensland, where 11 are now excelling on a citrus farm—picking, packing, and even operating tractors—while two are working as fitter machinists in a workshop.
On May 12th, 2025, Gazelle sent 6 meat workers to New South Wales. Then, today June 4th, 2025, another 8 workers departed to join them, while 6 more are en route to Melbourne and one to Perth.
Australian meat factories are reinforcing ENB’s leadership in the labour mobility sector.
The key to ENB’s success is the Gazelle LMU’s top-notch training program. Coordinator Ellen Morgan and her hardworking team including Charnette Ahken, Salomi Titi, and Dianne Maiaial from Senisim PNG ensure workers are fully prepared.
Unlike standard recruitment, Gazelle’s approach guarantees workers are ready for every challenge both professional and personal. Their training covers:
– Work skills & professionalism
– Personal hygiene & cultural readiness
– Money management & budgeting.
When you recruit from the Gazelle Labour Mobility Unit, you are not just hiring workers you are gaining dedicated, skilled, and culturally prepared professionals who elevate every workplace they join.
Gazelle is now preparing the next group of candidates for upcoming recruitment drives.
As a result, ENB workers arrive not just as employees, but as ambassadors, disciplined, adaptable and equipped to excel.
