Meninga A Blackhawk

The SP PNG Hunters will not have the services of Captain Moses Meninga for the 2020 season.

Meniniga has made 55 appearances for the club since making his debut in 2017, and has scored 9 tries for the club.

The 25-year-old utility forward played at lock second row and at Prop, he was one forward that had an immense work rate often topping the teams tackle count.

The young forward has secured a one year deal with Intrust Super Cup Club the Townsville Blackhawks, for the 2020 season.

Meninga has signed on with the club and is awaiting his visa application for him to travel down to Australia.

“Yes It is confirmed I have signed for a season with the Townsville Blackhawks for just one season that’s next year, I am just waiting for my Visa to go down,” Menininga said.

Meninga’s season as captain was a rough one, with the Hunters finishing second last in 2019, but as a leader he stood up to the test and led upfront earning him the 2020 season contract.

But for Meninga he is much focused on this weekend’s Oceania Cup match against Fiji as a Kumuls player, leaving his Hunters putting aside his Intrust Super Cup performance.

“The Hunters season is over but we still have representative rugby league, and with the help of the Intrust Super Cup players, the NRL players and the others from UK we have strong team against Fiji,” Meninga added.

Meninga and the other forwards from the Intrust Super Cup like Burley Bears Luke Page are the foundation of a strong forward pack that will pave the way for a star studded PNG Kumuls backline.

“The Kumuls forward pack is made up of players that have been together in the team for quite a while, and we have the same passion and drive that we will use for this weekend’s match,” Meninga said.
