OCPNG welcomes new Accountant Ombudsman

Kevin Kepore has been sworn in as the Ombudsman Commission’s Accountant Ombudsman.

Kepore took his oath of office in a ceremony today (November 6) at Government House, before His Excellency the Acting Governor General, Honourable Job Pomat.

Present also were close members of his family, the media, and employees of the Ombudsman Commission.

Mr. Kepore’s appointment fills the vacancy which has existed for almost four years.

His appointment also completes the Commission’s administrative body specifically referred to as the Members of the Commission (MOC).

Mr. Kepore is an Accountant by profession, and prior to taking up the appointment, he was the Director Academic for Certified Practicing Accountants Papua New Guinea (CPAPNG). He has also taught at the Pacific Adventist University (PAU), the University Of Papua New Guinea (UPNG), and has worked as Senior Tax Accountant with Deloitte Touché Tohmatsu, and as a Provincial VAT Manager with IRC.

Chief Ombudsman Michael Dick and Ombudsman Richard Pagen who were present at the swearing-in, congratulated Mr. Kepore saying his wealth of professional experience will be of great benefit to the running of the administration of the Commission, as well as his constitutional duties and responsibilities of a Papua New Guinean.
