PNGDF Training Cells Ready for Use

Specialist soldiers in the field of engineering have refurbished the Training Cells at PNGDF Taurama base, outside of Port Moresby.

The refurbished cells will be used to conduct training following its official opening today (October 19).

It was refurbished in 14 days, with assistance from Australian Defence Force personnel through the Defence Corporate Program. The opening coincides with the launching of the Standard Operations Procedures for the unit.

An important book that captures the ‘ Dos and Dont’s ‘ a soldier from 1RPIR must comply with.

The Fields Specialists is a sub-unit within the First Royal Pacific Islands Regiment, that takes on construction tasking within the Unit.

The cell is now equipped with computers, chairs, and tables with air conditioning, making it a proper training environment.

Earlier this year, computer distributor DataCo had presented five new computers to 1RPIR, a commitment that has assisted the unit is settling up its training centre.
