He started his business by selling ice, now Sam Tasion is a successful businessman with a business projection of K100million.
Celebrating his 60th birthday this week, Mr. Tasion says giving back to the Community and contributing to the country’s economic growth are his dreams.
Tasion says despite the economic hiccups, surviving the odds and pushing your dream is key to success. Originally from Manus, he began selling ice in Port Moresby then became the first national car dealer in 1993. He now owns the Tasion Group of Companies.
Free Way Motors, Europcar, Seeadler Bay Hotel, PNG Marine Works Masakuman, and Road Side Assistance are some of his subsidiary companies operating in the country. Mr. Tasion believes in perseverance and commitment to survive in the business sector.
On his 60th Birthday, he announced his offer to provide a charity bus to assist community programs run by churches and associations. Looking back, Mr Tasion says trust and understanding is also a key factor in partnering with businessmen and women outside the country.
Tasion’s 6 sons and two daughters were also present to celebrate his 60th Birthday here in Port Moresby.
