Port Moresby Womenrsquo;s Basketball League has named a strong side tothe National Junior Championships, in Kavieng next month.
The Port Moresby Womenrsquo;s junior basketball team boasts a number of skillful players and will bethe team to beat atthe Championships in Kavieng fromthe 14th tothe 24th of September.
Captain Opa Eko, Rosa Kairi and Marie Terry were members ofthe Under 19 team to Victoria, Australia, last year for the Oceania Youth Championships.
Maimu Kalaand Mary Fred Elavo have been named inthe team as well. Four members ofthe POMWBe Junior team were part ofthe senior women’s team that recently wonthe City Pharmacy National All Stars title in Lae.
Levy fees have been set at K500 per player/official. The training squad has been in training beforethe final team was announced.
The team continues training underthe watchful eyes of veteran coach Veitu Diro who’s ably assisted by Mary Elavo Junior.
