Sitting Member for Rigo, Ano Pala, visited Kamali village yesterday on his campaign trail.
He defended the People’s National Congress Party’s Free Education Policy, saying when the younger generation is educated, the country will be in good hands in the future.
Ano Pala made a quick stop over at Kamali Primary School, on the way to the main village. He reassured the school administration and the students that as long as PNC is in government, the policy will continue.
Kamali village is the 4th village Mr. Pala has visited on his campaign trail.
This week Opposition Leader, Don Polye, said if they come back and form government, they will remove the free education policy and introduce a subsidised education policy.
Mr. Pala explained the importance of an education population for a country’s progress in all sectors.
Other policies Mr Pala discussed were on empowering the district and enabling economic development.
Local pastor, Reverend Malaga Ure said Mr. Pala has done good for the church and for the social welfare of the community.
Mr. Pala is one of 39 candidates running for the Rigo Open seat.
A lawyer by profession, he has served two terms in parliament and has worked 20 years as the Parliament Chief legal officer and Clerk of Parliament, before entering politics.
