Momote Airport To Be Upgraded by Chinese Contractor

Momote Airport in Manus Province will undergo major redevelopment.

Documentation to effect this project were signed today between the National Airports Corporation, and the China Habour Engineeringn.

Board Chairman for the National Airports Corporation, Reuben Aila said Momote is fortunate to be the first airport to undergo upgrade and redevelopment in 2017.

“They have done a good job in Girua Airport, Northern Province and we are happy. I congratulate the China Harbour Engineering Company Limited, and we hope the project is delivered on time,” Mr. Aila said.

The project will be developed under the Civil Aviation Development Investment Program (CADIP).

Contractor, China Harbour Engineering Company Limited will develop this project at an estimated cost of K100,000,000.

General Manager, Ma Jianhua said the company was happy to work alongside locals in delivering this significant project.

“Thank you for this opportunity and we will start the work immediately. Also we will maintain our relationship with the local partners and the people,”

The project will be delivered in the duration of 18 months.
