Badili Hardware Opens Lae Branch

Badili Hardware Limited opened a new outlet  late last Friday. It is first of a series of hardware stores they are looking to build outside of Port Moresby.

The K10 million investment has been welcomed by the Morobe Provincial Government and is significant in this depressed economic period.

From a small hardware shop in  Badili  in Port Moresby, it’s taken 20 years to come this far.

Chairman Ashok Kumar, who saw the growth  says the  journey has been focused on giving customers quality at an affordable price.

Domestically, importers like Badili Hardware whose supplies come primarily from Australia and New Zealand, have been struggling with the sliding value of the Kina and the shortage of foreign currency.

While other businesses are  cutting costs, Badili Hardware has done the opposite, by taking on  about 50 workers in Lae and  making a  significant investment in the province.
