The 27th SP Sports Awards event is set to be underway tonight at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Port Moresby.
Thirty-three contestants will be vying the awards in various categories; including sportsman and woman, sports community initiative, sports administrators and many others.
In addition, media awards will also be given to sports reporters of the year.
Tonight’s program will unfold at 6:30pm with the arrival of guests and will start at 7pm.
This is going to be massive with top awards giveaways to contestants in the following categories: Athlete of the Year, Team of the Year, Junior Male and Female Team of the Year, Junior Male and Female Athlete of the Year, Community Sports Initiative, Sports Administration, Sports Board of the Year and People’s Choice Awards.
SP Corporate Communications Manager, Dorothy Bengo, said SP Sports Awards recognises achievements for PNG Sportsman and woman, which 33 finalists will be vying for the top awards tonight.
This event was made possible by SP Brewery, PNG Sports Foundation, EMTV, Air Niugini, FM 100, Theodist, City Pharmacy Limited and Crowne Plaza.
