The executive committee of the games council has determined a guideline for bidding provinces to meet the basic requirements to host the games.
In an interview with Deputy Chairman of PNG Games Council, John Boino, he confirmed that hosting rights were open for bidding, and that deadline for accreditation for the upcoming games in Kimbe ends on August 31, 2016.
On eligibility, the residency qualifications for athletes are either born in the represented province or be resident of no less than six months of the represented province.
The council completed a long process of consultations with stakeholders to amend the Games Charter which was adopted for use at a meeting held in Kimbe, in which the previous charter became outdated and discarded to avoid confusion and misinterpretation.
