The nation of Papua New Guinea will once again have the chance to cheer on their favourite homegrown athletes, with the country’s most-watched free-to-air broadcaster, EMTV, to exclusively broadcast the 2016 Rio Olympic Games this August.

EMTV, now a 100 per cent PNG owned company, successfully covered and broadcast the 2015 Pacific Games, setting world class standards in the broadcasting of a major sporting event here in PNG.

Millions of viewers throughout the nation will be able to watch all the action from Rio free-to-air, from start to finish. Exclusive content, unparalleled live coverage and at no cost; what more could you want?!

The deal remains part of EMTV’s commitment to bringing you the most popular international sporting events to your TV screen. In 12 months time, EMTV will transition to digital high definition broadcasting, giving you an even greater range of entertaining content to choose from.

The transition to digital high definition further cements EMTV’s place as being the country’s nambawan to watch.
