The Legal Year officially closed today.
It was a moment for the country’s judiciary at the Waigani Supreme Court House in Port Moresby today.
Chief Justice, Sir Salamo Injia, and members of the bench, lawyers, office bearers as well as relatives of residential judges from around the country turned up to witness the occasion.
Lawyers and members of the law fraternity were present to witness the official closure of what can be described as an eventful legal year.
Court room one was packed to full capacity, forcing some participants to watch the proceedings from the screens mounted outside in the hallway.
These participants poised for silence, with full respect given to judges as they gave their experiences they had in this legal profession, with pride.
The order of speech followed with senior judges including the four judges being recently commissioned.
Meanwhile, hearings will continue for these pending cases until Thursday 24th of December, 2015.
