Apart from celebrating its provincial day, one student association is raising funds to address school fights in its province.
Speeches delivered during the event highlighted the economic potential the province has.
Dressed in their Provincial colors Green and Gold, over 2000 people turned up at Gerehu Secondary School to witness the Day.
Morobe’s Capital Lae is the second largest city in PNG and 9injects billions of Kinainto the country’s Economy through its Gold Mines, Farming, and Forestry sectors.
But the recent School fights in Laehas become a worrying concernfor the UPNG Morobe Students.
This year, there were several School fights were staged between the Lae and Busu Secondary Students, which lead to class cancellation and injury of students.
Today at the event, NCD Governor Powes Parkop, while appreciating Morobe’s contribution to the economy emphasized the need to keep Moresby clean.
The day saw the performance of singsing groups from the nine districts in Morobe.
NCD Government is the core sponsor of all provincial day celebrations in the Nation’s Capital and NCD Governor has been financially assisting UPNG Provincial groups to host their provincial celebrations through funds allocated to his office.
Today a Cheque of K10,000 was presented to Enga Students to host their Provincial Day.
