Mirriam Layton Recognized by Australian Senate

The Australian Senate has recognized Goroka woman leader Mirriam Layton, when passing a motion in November to ensure basic sanitation facilities and access for women and girls through WaterAID in Australia.

Layton is Co-Director of AT projects, a non-government community development organization based in Goroka, Eastern Highlands province.

She was acknowledged for her articulated emphasis on the need for basic, yet safe and easily accessible sanitation facilities, especially for women in the third world developing countries, such as PNG.
