Speaker of National Parliament,Theodore Zurenuouc, will assume the role of acting Governor General beginning this Friday while Sir Michael Ogio goes on Annual leave.
Governor General and his wife will spend Christmas and New Year in Buka in the Autonomous Region of Bougainville.
Sir Michael will resume duties in January.
This is the first time for Mr. Zurenuouc to assume the acting Vice Regal post since becoming speaker.
