He has called on the police hierarchy to look into the matter and other related incidents by the police around the country.

The recent killings at Hanuabada village are one of many faces of police brutality. Around the country, citizens are voicing concerns over the unacceptable behaviour of police.

Chief Secretary, Sir Manasupe Zurenuoc in a statement condemned the alleged killing of the two men at Hanuabada last Friday. He said it has become a common trend by certain unruly police personnel to overlook the Constabulary Standing Orders, while executing their duties.

The discharging of firearms is a serious breach of the standing orders.

He has called on the police hierarchy, especially Police Commissioner, Geoffrey Vaki, to address the unethical behaviour in the police force.
