Youths living around the Burn’s Peak area in Moresby North-West have stripped off parts of a vehicle involved in a car accident at the Poreporena Freeway in Port Moresby this afternoon.
The vehicle, a white dyna belonging to Pryde Furniture was stripped off in just 20 minutes after the accident.
When EMTV News arrived at the scene at 4pm today, three tyres, two mirrors and both head lights were already removed and taken away by the youths.
A group of youths drained fuel from the vehicle while others removed the tyre on the passenger side.
According to Mark Magani, a bystander who was present at the time of the accident, said the Pryde dyna was making a U-turn when it ran into the oncoming vehicle, another white dyna belonging to Paradise Aquarium.
“The driver of the Pryde vehicle fled the scene while the driver of the Paradise Aquarium, Leka Geno, hung around until police arrived,” said Magani.
Geno’s off sider who refused to comment on camera had received minor cuts to his face.
The accident had also slowed the movement of vehicles traveling into Hohola from Konedobu.
