Prime Minister Peter O’Neill met with Marengo Mining’s Managing Director and CEO, Les Emery on Tuesday to be briefed onthe progress ofthe Yandera Mine Project in Madang.
The Yandera Project is located 95 kilometers southwest ofthe nothern seaport of Madang.
According to Mr Emery,the Yandera Project is currently in its advanced stage of exploration and feasibility study.
The company is expected to export its first precious metal shipment in 2016 upon approval fromthe government on environmental permits and mining lease agreements.
