WW2 Bombs Found in Rai Coast Village

Bonbonfun villagers in the Rai Coast District of Madang province, have found seven World War 2 bombs believed to be undetonated.

They are calling on experts to help them remove the bombs.

Henrymark Rovo contacted EMTV via Facebook and said the bombs surfaced due to the weathering process and were discovered last Friday.

Mr Rovo said they believe there may be more buried underground.

The villagers are calling on experts, in particular, the PNGDF, to help them remove the bombs, given the limited knowledge they have on how to handle them.

Local elders said their village was used as a camp for one of the allies during World War II.
